Let me tell you a story. . .

As I ended my days in high school, I was equally interested in medicine, music, technology. My love of medicine never became academic; thus, I never followd the path of medical school. If you’re curious, if I did study medicine, I would have followed the path of osteopathy.

With the decision made about medicine, I decided to follow the path of music. I completed my Bachelor of Music Education degree (summa cum laude) at the University of Georgia in 2004 and my Master of Music Education degree at VanderCook College of Music (Chicago) in 2010. I served as a band director for 8 years; 7 at the middle school level. My initial entry into music education was in 2000 during my senior year of high school. I taught private saxophone lessons to 6th grade saxophonists at one of the middle schools that fed Jackson County Comprehensive High School (Jefferson, GA). To this day I still teach saxophone lessons and will probably continue until I can teach no more.

The IT geek in me was born around 1996 and experienced a significant growth in the summer 1999. What happened that summer? While participating as a music major with the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program, I had my first exposure to the Internet. I won’t bore you with how I became a geek; however, I will say it lead to enrolling at Gwinnett Technical College in 2012 to acquire formal education in Information Technology. In August 2013, I made the transition from full time music educator to full time IT professional, serving as an IT generalist for A Closer Look. A year later I completed my Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Networking from Gwinnett Technical College. My education continued after completing the degree with attaining the CCNA: Routing and Switching certification. My current education interest is with Linux system administration and have earned the Red Hat Certified System Administrator and Red Hat Certified Engineer certifications. Currently I serve as a systems engineer focusing on Linux infrastructure with Sailpoint.

Eddie Jennings Services, LLC was born in 2017 as the business entity through which I provide IT consulting and music education services. Its mission is to provide clients with high quality work and honest advice in the areas of information technology and music education.
